The Reservoir was completed in 1988. It is a mixed-income development
that fits well architecturally with existing neighborhood developments.
The design conforms to existing street setbacks, uses similar building
materials, and matches the existing neighborhood density of 20 units
per acres. There is a parking lot within walking distance of the development
so that cars do not dominate the development. All areas of the development,
including the community garden and two playgrounds, are visible from
inside the units. Since the Reservoir was built, for-profit developers
have added about 150 more units in rehabilitated warehouses and new
construction.
